Electronic Labour Books To Commence January 1, 2018
Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets announces start date for circulation of electronic labour books at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum: January 1, 2018.
An employment record book is an official personal document recording the employment status of its owner. Many European countries issue such documents.
In 1992 the issuing of employment record book was abolished and was re-introduced in 2002 with the new format which carries the double-headed eagle symbol.
Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said that the transition to electronic labor books can commence January 1, 2018.
Olga Golodets stressed that at the initial stage it will be possible to use electronic and paper documents at the same time, as employers and trade unions still differ in opinion about the application and transition of the books.
The issue of switching to electronic labour books has been considered for a long time, as it will save the government, employers, and workers a great deal of effort.
