Transition To Electronic Labour Books To Commence This Year

An employment record book is an official personal document recording the employment status of its owner. Many European countries issue such documents.

In 1992 the issuing of employment record book was abolished and was re-introduced in 2002 with the new format which carries the double-headed eagle symbol.

Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said that proposals for the transition to electronic labor books can commence this year.

Olga Golodets stressed that at the initial stage it will be possible to use electronic and paper documents at the same time.

According to the vice-premier, the transition to electronic document circulation is supported by all - employers, workers' representatives, as well as trade unions.

The issue of switching to electronic labor books has been considered for a long time.
